Mumbai: Suburban services were delayed by half an hour on Tuesday due to a technical snag in the signalling system at Asangaon. At least six Kasara-CSMT Up trains were delayed due to the fault.

According to Central Railway official, there was a technical problem in the block instrument at Asangaon station at 12.14 pm. Trains were being operated with caution till the problem was rectified by 12.34 pm. While Kasara-CSMT bound trains were delayed by 30 minutes, the remaining trains were only 15-20 minutes late.

Ram Milan Yadav, who was travelling from Bhandup to CSMT, said, “I waited for a local train for more than half an hour at Bhandup in the afternoon, I boarded a Kasara-CSMT-bound train, which was crowded. I somehow managed to find a place to stand in the train. There was no announcement about why trains were being delayed at Bhandup station.”

Another passenger Vinay Chenwankar said the CR trains were very crowded and were running behind schedule.
