Eknath Khadse continues volley against state government
Mumbai: BJP leader and former minister Eknath Khadse has continued his issue-based attack on his own party’s government in the state. In a recent speech, Khadse criticised the BJP government over its record related to development work. “Everyone is confused nowadays, including vikas (development),” he taunted.
Khadse was on the dais addressing a rally in Jalgaon with Sena minister Gulabrao Patil and former minister Suresh Jain. In the speech, he said, “Farmers are confused as they don’t know whether they will get the loan waiver or not. Someone said that they would get it by Navratra. Now Navratra has passed and someone is giving the new deadline as Diwali. Don’t know whether they will get it by then. No one knows who will be benefitted! Whether the husband will get a waiver or the wife, farmers are totally confused.”
The Maharashtra government has declared the farmer loan waiver scheme. It was supposed to be implemented by October 1 according to the initial deadline. But, the process of scrutiny of farmers’ claims is yet to be completed. So, the date of implementation is being postponed continuously. Khadse used the issue to slam his own government.
The senior leader also referred to the GST issue in his speech. “Nobody knows whether to file returns under a slab of 28 per cent or 18 per cent. There is a lot of confusion among traders. Different slabs on similar goods have added to the confusion,” he said. “The situation is such that vikas itself is confused,” he added, in yet another attack on his party's government.
