Sena will remain in NDA: Athawale

PM Modi-led government aims at giving justice to urban and rural people.

Mumbai: Minister of state for social justice and the Republican Party of India (RPI) chief Ramdas Athawale said that the inauguration of fourth suburban section has brought together Mahayuti on single platform. But we don’t know whether we will come together in Lok-Sabha or not.

Mr Athawale also said that the wave is with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, hence he will remain with Mahayuti for next 10 to 15 years for welfare of the Dalit and suppressed people.

Mr. Athawale said that the Shiv Sena does not have an option but to join the Mahayuti. Mr. Athawale was invited as guest of honour in the program of Central Railway (CR) at Kharkopar railway station, which was dedicated to the public on Sunday. On lighter note, he said that the name of Kharkopar gives a feeling of Ghatkopar in Mumbai.

RPI chief said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sena, RPI, Congr-ess and Nationalist Cong-ress Party have gathered for development work. “The purpose of the Modi-led government is to give justice to the urban as well as rural people of the country. Transportation should be developed at a larger scale. The wind is flowing towards Mr Modi. Hence, I am looking at him with a hope,” he added.

Mr. Athawale also predicted that the Sena would join them (BJP and RPI). “If the Sena would not join us, then where would they (Sena) go?” he said. Last week, he had made an astonishing comment and stated that he will stay in the BJP for 15-20 years and will decide about switching sides once he figures out which way the wind was blowing. He had also taken name of a Congress MLA Naseem Khan who had offered him to join the party.

In a media report, he had been quoted, “I stayed with the Congress for 10-15 years so I have to stay with the BJP for at least 15-20 years. I will be here till the time the current government stays in power and will switch side when I figure out which way the wind is blowing.”
