Sanjay Raut undergoes angioplasty at Mumbai hospital
Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut was Monday admitted to privately-run Lilavati Hospital after he complained of chest pain. His younger brother Sunil Raut said that the Sena MP had been suffering from chest pain for the past few days and was admitted to the hospital for a routine check-up. According to sources, he was to undergo angiography in the evening.
Amidst the political chaos in Maharashtra, Sanjay Raut complained of uneasiness and was admitted to Lilavati under senior cardiologist Dr Ajit Menon.
A source said, “Sanjay Raut came to the Bombay hospital two days ago for a routine check-up. An ECG (electrocardiogram test) was taken followed by some routine tests at Lilavati Hospital on Monday. Based on the ECG report, the doctors advised him to come to the hospital Monday for further tests. He will remain under observation in hospital for the next two days.”
Meanwhile, Sena MLA and Sanjay Raut’s younger brother Sunil Raut said, “My brother’s health is completely fine. No need to worry as he is here just for a check-up and nothing else. He will be discharged by Tuesday.”
“A few days ago, he underwent routine tests. The investigations showed some changes in readings that were border line due to which he had to be admitted,” Sunil Raut said.
Raut underwent angioplasty at the Lilavati Hospital at around 8 pm on Monday by Dr Menon.
“Raut first underwent angiography where two blocks in the heart were detected. Angioplasty is being carried out and his health is stable,” the Rajya Sabha MP’s brother Sunil Raut said.
Sanjay Raut has been diagnosed with two artery blockages and he is admitted to the 11th floor of Lilavati Hospital.
Sanjay Raut has been at the forefront in issuing statements since the Maharashtra Assembly election results were announced on October 24. He has been quite active in media briefings every day and posting sarcastic tweets to target ally BJP.
