Police nab 2 for murdering 24-year-old computer engineer
Mumbai: The Oshiwara police has arrested two men, Asif Khan aka ‘Batla’ (22) and Samiruddin Khan alias ‘Lalva’ (20), for allegedly murdering 24-year-old computer engineer Sufiyan Khan early on Monday. The accused persons had stabbed Khan to death after he allegedly torched their bike, following an argument over the parking space near their building last week. The accused men were presented in the court on Monday and were remanded to police custody till December 15.
Police sources said that two men were absconding after allegedly stabbing Sufiyan Khan in the chest on Saturday night. The crime was a result of a past feud regarding a parking space, following which Sufiyan had allegedly torched one of the accused person's bike last week.
Subhash Khanvilkar, senior police inspector of Oshiwara police station said, "We have made two arrests and they have been remanded to police custody till Friday. We are still ascertaining the role of the third accused, and the investigation is underway."
The incident took place on Saturday night at 9 pm, when the deceased Sufiyan Khan was seated at a spot, a little away from his residence at the Gulshan Nagar area of Jogeshwari (west), and was checking his mobile phone. Three persons, each wearing a helmet, riding a triple seat on a motor cycle came and intervened Khan, thrashing his head against a wall, and attacked him with a knife. The unidentified trio also stabbed Khan in the chest. Khan was immediately rushed to the civic-run Cooper Hospital, where he was being treated, but succumbed to his injuries early on Sunday morning.
