2,200 homes for students, bachelors in western suburbs

The service will exempt the tenants from brokerage, claims the company.

Mumbai: Outstation students and bachelors will be able to seek better accommodation by December this year. An online rental company is planning to set up around 2,200 homes mainly in the city’s western suburbs for bachelors and students who find it difficult to get accommodation in the city.

The company works with the owners who want to rent their houses. An online rental company has already availed around 250 homes in the city. The service will exempt the tenants from brokerage, claims the company.

With presence in eight cities already, the company is now expanding its reach in Mumbai, since job seekers and students approach the city in a large numbers. Through this online platform, it attempts to eliminate the barriers faced by youngsters in finding a house.

“While renting out houses, the owners’ treatment depends on the youngster’s religion, profession and gender. There are lot of intimidating questions because owners don't you trust easily. I had faced similar issues when I went to Bangalore for the first time in 2004. In 2014, when our cousins came, it was still the same. the barriers didn't change, so we thought to do something about it and started the portal,” said Amarendra Sahu, CEO and Co-founder, NestAway Technologies which is promoting the initiative.

With a few clicks on the app, prospective tenants can find, book and move into a rental home of their choice.

The customers will not Affordability, absence of brokerage, and transparency form the core of our customer-friendly and seamless transactions.

The portal offers shared/unshared accommodation and collect two months’ rent as security deposit.

“By December, 2,200 huses with smart lock facility will be available and a substantial amount of it will be in the western suburbs,” added Sahu.
