Mumbai: Now the people of Mumbai can get their Property Card (PR) and Property Maps online within a span of a few seconds without having to wait in a queue at the Mumbai collector’s office. The city’s collector’s office is all set for the digital property cards, which will have a digital signature.

Previously, if someone needed a PR card, they had to wait for a minimum of seven days.

According to officials, the digitisation of PR cards would help make it available in seven minutes. The facility will be inaugurated after the LS poll results.

“The World Bank has selected Mumbai and Delhi as two cities from India as a part of the ease of doing business. Both cities will be carrying out the digitsation of property records. Now anyone can sit at home and get their property card at a click with a digital signature,” said Shivajirao Jondhale, the collector of Mumbai.

“Property mutation work will also be available online. As soon as the applicant applies for mutation with the sub-registrar, the document will be available for the collector’s signature,” said Mr Jondhale.

“We have been working on it for the past one year. We were waiting for the payment gateway to start this facility and now the digital signatures have been approved and are available,” said Mahesh Ingle from the land survey department.
