Mumbai: Deepak Kulkarni, owner of DSK Developers who has been accused of duping more than 3,000 investors of Rs 1,015 crore, while reiterating his commitment to pay back investors their money with interest on Tuesday, said he had started a crowdfunding venture to help him tide over the situation and needed support from investors.

After the hearing of the anticipatory bail application (ABA) was completed, Kulkarni while answering questions regarding the ultimatum issued by the high court of passing orders that would probably seal his fate and allow the police to arrest him, Kulkarni said such negative thoughts were getting to him.

“There have been some problems while arranging for the funds, I assure the investors that I will pay each one of them back. I have even started a crowdfunding initiative in Pune and students from S. P. College have collected Rs 35,000 as they have faith in my intentions and abilities. I want the investors to have similar faith,” said Kulkarni.

Meanwhile, investors from Mumbai who feel they may get left out when it comes to distributing the amount Kulkarni will deposit with the court said that though they had approached the Mumbai police and sought that their complaints be tagged with those of Punekars, they had been refused.

“We are left with no option but to await the outcome of this case. Even after that there is no guarantee as to when we will get our money back,” said Pragnya Sawant, an investor.
