Duo pose as police; beat, rob woman

Mumbai: Crime branch officials have arrested two persons for allegedly posing as policemen and then kidnapping a woman from Dahisar check naka at around 4 am on Thursday, following which they assaulted her and fled with her two mobile phones and cash. Acting on a tip-off, the police found the duo and arrested them after following the trail of their vehicle.

On Thursday, the  men approached a woman in her mid thirties near the check naka. The men asked her to come aside as part of a routine check up and abducted her to a secluded area. They then assaulted her and snatched her purse, which contained two mobile phones and cash worth `2,500. The men then fled the spot on a black colour two-wheeler. The woman approached the Dahisar police station but was later refer-red to the Kashimira police where she registered a complaint against the duo.
