Mumbai: Sakshi Kanoje couldn’t be happier. Reason: She has scored a whopping 95.60 per cent in her SSC examinations; that too after overcoming injuries in a freak accident just a month before exams were held.

On February 9, Sakshi was seriously injured when the Veer Kotwal Udyan bus stop near Plaza cinema in Dadar collapsed on her and she had to be rushed to KEM hospital. She sustained as many as nine fractures and could not sit, stand or move without experiencing pain. Despite being in such bad shape barely a month before SSC exams, Sakshi managed to score 95.60 per cent.

Sakshi’s father, Pratap Kanoje, told The Asian Age, “The incident occurred just before exams and we were all so tensed. We never thought she would score so much. She was experiencing constant aches and pains.”

Sakshi told this newspaper, “I use to study for several hours despite the pain. I did not get distracted by the pain. I was wearing seven types of belts as support.”
