WhatsApp numbers for pothole plaints
Mumbai: The road department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has made public 24 numbers of the engineers of 24 wards where citizens can lodge complaints via WhatsApp regarding potholes.
That particular ward will then act on the complaint and fill up the potholes with cold mix material, which is the quick dry material being used by the civic body to fix the craters for two years now.
Citizens can also register their complaints regarding roads and potholes on the MCGM 24/7 mobile app; these complaints will be forwarded to the concerned ward office.
Arun Joglekar, BMC’s IT department head, said, “The complaints on the app are directed to the roads’ department and the concerned ward will resolve them. The IT department will soon start a feature where complaints regarding nullah cleaning can be lodged by uploading the photograph of the nullah and its location.
This feature will start operating on the Mumbai 24/7 app in two days. The concerned ward will clean the said nullahs, thereby preventing waterlogging. We want citizens to be the eyes of this city.”
