Aaditya Thackeray moots innovation, start-up hub in Andheri

The hub is also aimed at providing solutions to the city's urban town planning issues.

Mumbai: For young entrepreneurs in the city, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning to form a start-up and innovation hub at Andheri. The hub is also aimed at providing solutions to the city’s urban town planning issues.

Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray, who is the brains behind the concept, met civic chief Ajoy Mehta on Monday to discuss the progress of the project. The hub will soon be launched with regard to urban town planning issues pertaining to BMC jurisdiction solutions. Mr Thackeray tweeted on Monday, “The BMC’s start up/ innovation hub will be a step into the future for solutions on issues of BMC’s obligatory duties and will also facilitate job creation in the city. This will encourage those with innovations and dreams of entrepreneurship for solutions.”

For the formation of the hub, the civic body is planning to rope in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). While the civic body will provide space and infrastructure, IIT experts will train the aspirants, said Sena sources.
