RSS chief wants India to be strongest military power
Mumbai: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has called for making India the world’s strongest military power. He also pushed for India getting a permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council. Mr Bhagwat was speaking at a conference organised in Mumbai by India International Model United Nations (IIMUN).
“Bharat has always nurtured the ideology of Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam. We have the legitimate right to be in the Security Council of the UN. While we have always worked with friendship and love for others, sometimes it is necessary to show your strength to the world,” he said. “India has already established itself as an economic power. Now it is time to become the strongest military power. We do not need to apply for permanent membership of the council. Instead, the world shall give us what is ours rightfully,” he further said.
IIMUN is a youth organisation comprising 26,000 young organisers who put together student conferences in 108 cities across 15 countries and work with over 7,500 schools to spread the idea of India.
The organisation has adopted the theme of getting India a permanent seat in the UN Security Council.
