Roadblock on Mumbai-Pune expressway for a week
Mumbai: A roadblock will be held on the Mumbai-Pune expressway for 7 days. The block will be arranged at Adoshi, Khandala and Bhatan tunnel for one-and-a-half hour daily, and has been called for loose scaling work at the landslide-prone area.
With all agencies preparing for the monsoon, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd (MSRDC), too, has planned to start its loose scaling work to avoid landslides during the rainy season.
The MSRDC has asked for permission from the police department to arrange the roadblock on the expressway. The work begun from Tuesday, and will continue for the next four days i.e. till May 17.
Work will be stopped for three days from Saturday, May 18 to Monday, May 20 for Mumbai-Pune travelers. Thereafter, work will resume between May 21 and May 23.
On these days, the traffic towards Pune and Mumbai will be stopped for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
The work will start in the morning at 10 am and will end at 4 in the evening. There will be a 30 minutes’ gap after each 15 minutes of work. The Mumbai police has denied work permission between 4 pm and 4.15 pm. Also, the pol-ice has asked the MSRDC not to stretch work for more than 15 minutes and allow traffic to pass through. The police has also suggested that MSRDC display signages to inform about work activity on the e-way.
