Bikers snatch Rs 8.75L gold from senior citizen

According to the police, the incident was reported between Jangid complex and Silver Park area of Mira Road at around 11.15.

Mumbai: Two bike-borne men snatched a handbag containing gold ornaments worth more than Rs 8.75 lakh from a senior citizen, who had stepped out of a nationalised bank in Mira Road on Wednesday morning.

According to the police, the incident was reported between Jangid complex and Silver Park area of Mira Road at around 11.15 am when Harishchandra Kuber (65) was returning home after collecting gold ornaments from his bank locker. In his complaint to the police, Kuber who is a retired serviceman, stated that a bike came from behind him and the pillion rider snatched his bag and sped away.
