Mumbai: Thane police has registered a FIR against a 30-year-old physically challenged music student for allegedly molesting a six-year-old minor girl under the pretext of teaching her to play a keyboard. The accused, Sanjay Namdev Patil (30), has been arrested.

Patil, a Thane resident, was a student of Pendse Music Academy. The minor had recently joined the same academy to learn singing and keyboard playing. The incident occurred on Friday evening when the main teacher and co-owner of the academy, Mohan Pendse, was not present. Patil, a trained vocalist and piano player, molested the girl under the pretext of teaching her how to play the keyboard. The minor confided in her parents, following which they lodged a police complaint against the accused.
