MNS flays BJP over rape, Nanar project
Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, while attending a rickshaw distribution event at Mulund on Sunday, took potshots at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre and the state, and also accused the party of acting against rapists who targeted an eight-year-old in January at Kathua in Jammu & Kashmir.
Mr Thackeray criticised chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and the Shiv Sena for allegedly not doing enough for the Marathi-speaking youngsters, claiming that it not provide sufficient job opportunities and instead allowed outsiders to do business in Maharashtra.
He further criticised the BJP government for allowing the Nanar project, referring to an ISRO report which stated that Maharashtra was the second state in the country after Rajasthan that was moving towards becoming a barren and a desert, due to a multitude of commercial projects that were being sanctioned without paying attention to the environmental and ecological damage.
“These people are only intent on filling their pockets at the cost of destroying Mahar-ashtra. They are hand in glove, but the MNS will not allow this to happen to Maharashtra. The MNS will never allow the Nanar project to happen here,” he declared.
