Mumbai: ‘Id-ul-fitr’ will be celebrated in most parts of India on Saturday, and special prayers (duas) would also be made for peace, harmony and brotherhood, according to prominent community leaders.

“It is a common practice that supplications are made for peace and harmony considering the current situation in our country or rather across the world. Special duas will be made for peace and brotherhood on the auspicious day of id,” said Maulana Mehmood Daryabadi, general secretary of All India Ulema Council.

“Id celebrations starts with prayers and today there is a need of communal harmony in the country, so during Ramzan special blessings are sought for communal harmony, peace and brotherhood,” said Maulana Moin Miyan Ashraf, a prominent religious leader.

Describing Id, Maulana Mustaqim Ahsan Azmi, president of Jamiat-e-Ulema Maharashtra said that during Jumas and Ramzan too there were special prayers for communal harmony. Duas also seek betterment of the sufferers of the harm caused by some mislead people.
