Mumbai: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) has officially postponed the lottery announcement date for affordable houses for all four boards, including Mumbai. The Mhada will declare the lottery results after the Lok Sabha election results. The Mumbai lottery will be announced on June 2.

The lottery for 238 homes with 108 commercial blocks in Mumbai will be announced on June 2. Almost after a month from its previous date, the Mhada will announce the lottery result. The previous date for announcement of results was April 21. The Mhada had officially declared the date on its website.

Because of the model code of conduct, the Mhada changed the date of the lottery result. Similarly, the Mhada has extended the dates for registration and payments. Now people can apply and make payment till May 24. The final list of applicants will be displayed on the Mhada website on May 30.

According to Mhada sources, earlier the Mhada had asked special permission from the Election Commission (EC) to announce the lottery.
