Fast trains to halt at Diva station from Sunday

The inauguration will take place at the hands of union railway minister Suresh Prabhu.

Mumbai: After a rather long wait, Central Railway’s Diva station will finally get 12 fast services (up and down) halting there, beginning this Sunday. The inauguration will take place at the hands of union railway minister Suresh Prabhu.

Until now, only slow trains took a halt at Diva however all that changed after last year’s riots which went down as one of the most violent protests in the city’s recent railway history. CR had planned to have fast services halt at Diva by Diwali itself however finishing touches caused some delay. An official on condition of anonymity said, “The work like polishing tiles on the platform, taps, cover over platform were still remaining which is why the delay occurred. But now the issue has been resolved and commuters at Diva will soon be given this service”.

The time-table for the fast services that will halt at Diva is available on CR’s website.
