Mumbai: The Malvani police is examining the social networking accounts of anchor Arpita Tiwari (24) to see whether she had told any of her friends or acquaintances about the problems she was facing, especially with her boyfriend, Pankaj Jadhav (30).

Tiwari’s friends and colleagues have recorded their statement, in which they have clearly said that she was happy professionally, but there were major problems in her personal life. The police has sought help from the cyber cell officers to get an insight into her social networking accounts.

Police sources said that the prime suspect, Tiwari’s boyfriend Pankaj Jadhav and his friend Amit Kumar are cooking up a story that is further complicating the probe.

While Jadhav claims that all was well between the couple, Kumar said in his statement that he saw the couple fighting a few hours before Tiwari was found dead on the second-floor duct of Malvani’s Manavsthal building.

While Tiwari’s phone was sent to Kalina’s Forensic Science Laboratories (FSL) on Monday, the police want to leave no stone unturned, and is scouring through her social media accounts like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. All the messages sent and received by the deceased anchor will be put through the scanner to see if anything unusual pops out, said an investigating officer of Malvani police station.

The anchor Arpita Tiwari was found dead on the second-floor duct of the 18-storey highrise in Malvani on Monday morning, and is suspected to have fallen a few hours before her body was discovered. The police is probing the case and has registered a murder case against unknown persons. No suicide note was recovered from the spot.

An officer on the condition of anonymity said an alleged argument on a private matter erupted between the couple in the party, following which they stopped talking for a while, but then reconciled.

The police has detained two men, including Tiwari’s boyfriend, on the grounds that during an enquiry earlier, discrepancies were found in duo’s statements, which made the police suspicious enough to detain them.
