Man registers FIR against police inspector over assault
Mumbai: The Thane’s Rabodi police has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Suryakant Kamble, an police inspector at Jogeshwari police station’s inspector on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting a 45-year-old man on January 14. The complainant, Fazluddin Gaur (45), has alleged that the inspector assaulted him on January 14 after forcibly entering his house. The complainant added that inspector Kamble took him to Rabodi police station to frame him under false charges.
The police officials however refused to comply with the inspector’s demand, pointing out that they had no evidence against Mr Gauri. Kamble, who took leave from work on Sunday, is yet to be questioned and is absconding.
Mr Gauri, a resident of Trimurti Bhavan of Rabodi in Thane, has also alleged that inspector pushed his wife after entering the house. After the officials at Rabodi police did not lodge a complaint due to lack of evidence, Mr Gauri was allowed to go home.
Fazluddin Gauri has lodged a complaint against the police inspector Suryakant Kamble on Tuesday. Suryakant Kamble was previously posted at Rabodi police station as an Assistant police inspector, four years ago.
Speaking to The Asian Age, senior police inspector of Rabodi police station Pramod Sail said, “We have registered an FIR against Suryakant Kamble and have booked him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for kidnapping, house-trespassing and giving false information.”
