Unknown man kidnaps and rapes five-year-old

Mumbai: In a shocking incident, an unidentified man allegedly kidnapped and raped a five-year-old minor girl from Bhandup, right outside her building on Friday. The case was registered on Friday afternoon, hours after the incident.

According to the police sources, the incident took place on Friday, when the accused allegedly kidnapped the minor from her Bhandup residence while she was playing in the foyer area and apparently took her to a vacant dilapidated structure at Khanna Compound of Azad Nagar in Thane and allegedly raped her there. Following the incident, the accused left her at the spot, and moved away from the dilapidated structure’s premises. 

Sources added that when a local who was passing b,y heard the cries of a girl, he rushed to check and found thelittle girl to be undressed . He immediately rushed her to the Kapurbawdi police station, where she was  handed over to her parents in Bhandup. 

Sukhada Narkar, Thane police spokesperson said, “The police are scouring through the CCTV footage of the area, in a bid for identification.” 

Ms Narkar added, “A medical test was conducted on the victim, which proved that she was raped by an unknown person.”

Kapurbawdi police have booked the unidentified accused under section pertaining to rape and kidnapping of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the POCSO Act
