Maharashtra: 20-yr-old man stabbed to death by friends in Thane

Thane: A 20-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by his two friends at Mharal village in Kalyan taluka of Maharashtra apparently over a financial dispute, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place late Monday night, police said.

The victim, identified as Fiaz Shaikh, had gone with some of his friends to have food and liquor in the village late Monday night. On their way back, an argument broke out among the group members and the two accused stabbed Fiaz Shaikh to death and tried to attack some others, a police officer said.

The body of the victim was later sent to a government hospital for post-mortem, the police said adding that no arrest has been made in this connection.

Police have booked the accused under IPC 302 (murder) and a search has been launched to nab them.
