Thane tehsildar demands bribe, lands in ACB net

A case under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered in this context.

Mumbai: Two people, including a tehsildar in Thane district landed, into the custody of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh on Tuesday. The accused have been identified as Kisan Badhane (44) and Ram Ugale (34).

Badhane, the tehsildar, was allegedly caught red-handed along with mediator Ugale by a team led by police inspector Vaishali Raskar, while accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh. They had demanded the bribe from the complainant for issuing a conversion tax order (NA order) with regards to a land in Kashi village of Mira Road in Thane district.

A case under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered in this context.
