Meeting between wr and bmc on pre-monsoon plan

Mumbai: In order to review the progress of pre-monsoon preparation, a review meeting was conducted on Wednesday between the officials of Western Railway and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The main items of discussion were related to cleaning of storm water drains, dumping of garbage near and on the railway tracks, shifting of overhead water pipelines, enlargement of cross section of drainage pipeline, issues related to Road overbridges (ROBs) and Foot overbridges (FOBs) along with the encroachment on railway land.

The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has been requested for depositing the amount required for repairing and replacement of the Foot overbridge in the railway area and BMC has agreed to this. It has also requested the removal of encroachment at Poisor Nalla to facilitate completion of the FOB work.
