Bombay HC asks Maharashtra to justify the toll loss to exchequer
The contractor has been allegedly collecting toll over and above the amount he was supposed to recover.
Mumbai: The Bombay high court has asked the state to clarify its stand on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway toll contractor issue after the petitioner informed the court that the exchequer had already incurred a loss of Rs 1500 crore as the contractor has been allegedly collecting toll over and above the amount he was supposed to recover.
The petitioner said that the state was doing nothing about it and hence sought directions to terminate the contract and to ask the contractor to deposit the additional amount collected by him.
