CM Fadnavis takes dig at Sharad Pawar's strike comment
Mumbai: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis accused NCP chief Sharad Pawar of creating ‘confusion’ over the Balakot air strike issue Tuesday.
The statement came two days after the NCP chief said that he had asked the government to give a free hand to the armed forces to destroy terror camps after the Pulwama attack. However, Mr Pawar on Monday issued a statement that his earlier statements were misconstrued.
Mr Fadnavis stated that Mr Pawar was in a “confused” state as he did not want to give credit to the Prime Minister for the Balakot strike. “Pawar himself is in a confused state. He is trying to create confusion over the air strike issue, as he does not want to give credit (of the air operation) to Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Mr Fadnavis said while speaking to reporters after inaugurating the media centre at the BJP state headquarters. He also said that though Pawar was a mature person, some people in his party were immature. “We need not have to listen to others,” said the CM.
Earlier, the local media reported that Mr Pawar, by virtue of being a former defence minister, suggested that the government give “all powers” to the armed forces to destroy terror camps.
