Uddhav Thackeray: Decision on CM's post finalised

His comments assumed significance as he made them in presence of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, who was specially invited for the event.

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has dropped enough hints about sharing the chief minister’s post with the BJP saying that the Sena-BJP alliance has already finalised the issue.

“The Sena-BJP alliance was formed after considering all aspects. We have already made a decision and you people should not worry about it,” he said while addressing his party workers during Sena’s 53rd anniversary on Wednesday.

His comments assumed significance as he made them in presence of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, who was specially invited for the event.

“I have a healthy relationship with Mr Fadnavis. Our ties are real, not fake,” he said. “The practice of inviting leaders from other parties has been prevalent for a long time. The Sena chief was also invited for BJP's event. The BJP leaders were also summoned for the Sena programmes. It was discontinued in for sometime, but now the acrimony has been sorted out,” said Mr Thackeray.

Mr Fadnavis further said, “Supporters of both parties believe in me and Sena chief so let the media speculate. We will continue to work for the development.”

“Several people had raised eyebrows over my decision to attend the event. But Mr Thackeray set a new precedent by inviting leaders of ally parties to Sena's event,” he added.

“The Sena-BJP alliance is the longest-running alliance in the country. The supporters of both the parties also wanted the alliance to be formed. We have come together not for the elections but for development of the countr,” Mr Fadnavis said.
