Eucation department announces round 3 of FCFS

So it is advised to the students to choose colleges where there is seat as per their preference instead of waiting.

Mumbai: After the completion of the round two of first-come, first-served (FCFS) in the ongoing first-year junior college (FYJC) admissions, out of approximately 5,000 to 6,000 students, only half of the students confirmed their seats in the MMR region. For the remaining students, the state education department have announced round three of FCFS, which will be the final chance for the students, and after this, FYJC 2018 admissions will be closed.

According to sources close to the education department, after FCFS round 2, close to 60,000 seats are vacant and are available to the students. However, there are no vacant seats in popular colleges. So it is advised to the students to choose colleges where there is seat as per their preference instead of waiting.

“The students are waiting for someone to cancel the admission so that they can get that seat in the South Bombay colleges. But that is a rare chance as the lectures have alre-ady started,” an official said. The officials complained that even after repeated notifications about securing the admissions as soon as possible, the students were being choosy and cancelled the admissions every time the next round was announced. “We do not want to force the students at any cost to take admission in colleges they don’t like but they should understand that the lectures have already started so it’s only becoming tough for them,” the official said.

For the FYJC admissions, the department conducted four general rounds: one special round and two FCFS rounds and still several students are left without a seat. The FCFS III round will begin from September 24 where the FCFS panel will be activated for students. All the students (without seats, cancelled admissions, ATKT students, fresh applicants) can apply for the round.
