Celeb manager saved from suicide attempt
Mumbai: Navi Mumbai police rescued Anirban Blah, the co-founder of celebrity management firm Kwan Entertainment, before he could allegedly attempt suicide by jumping off a bridge. Mr Blah has been accused by some women in the #MeToo movement.
Blah was asked to “step aside” by the firm on Tuesday, which handles the work of several top Bollywood stars, after he was accused of sexual harassment by four women. Senior inspector Anil Deshmukh of Vashi police station said traffic cops spotted him on the old Vashi creek bridge at around 11:30 pm on Thursday. Having received a tip off, police moved in and detained him before he could do anything, Mr Deshmukh said.
Reportedly, Blah had also written a suicide note, which stated, “Without trying to justify any of my actions, I just want to say that I have tried to be the best person I can be. I didn’t have the strength to cope with what happened to me as a child in a healthy way. I never was able to separate sex from power, to make it a part of love, and somewhere along the way one part of me turned into a monster.”
“Maybe... I am bipolar. Because I know how much love I have to give. To my friends, to my family and to everyone. I have tried to be the best friend, best colleague and the best person I can. But unfortunately the monster inside me keeps resurfacing and I’ve tried to bury him and kill him but I can’t.”
