Raj Thackeray fears currency scrap might ruin country, criticises Modi

The MNS chief even attacked Modi directly and questioned his success in the election if the later was against the black money.

Mumbai: After Shiv Sena, MNS chief Raj Thackeray has also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his demonetisation decision and expressed fear that the country might be ruined if the decision goes wrong. He even doubted that if the decision of demonetisation was taken after considering all aspects. The MNS chief even attacked Modi directly and questioned his success in the election if the later was against the black money.

“If demonetisation is bringing some good for the country then we will welcome it. But if the decision is not taken thoughtfully then it can ruin the country. The government is coming up with different measures every day, sometimes they are for senior citizens sometimes they are increasing the limit. Were these difficulties not considered before taking the decision?” Raj said on Saturday in a rally of his partymen at Ravindra Natya Mandir.

In a direct attack on Modi, Raj asked if the PM is against the black money then how did he get elected. “Narendra Modi, if you were against the black money then tell us how did you get elected? Also, BJP is yet not given its expenditure for 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Arun Jaitley had declared cash of Rs 82 crore while contesting the Lok Sabha polls. Do we call it as black money?” he asked.

The MNS chief questioned why raids were not conducted against the black money holders when the notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 were banned. “The Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency was banned to curb black money. why no raids were conducted on the people who posses black money. Why the common people are standing in queues? 40 people have lost their lives standing in the queues so far, was there any black money holder?” he questioned.

Raj pointed at how BJP MP Janardan Reddy spent Rs 500 crore for his daughter’s wedding. He also said the same leader was behind bars during the Congress regime.
