Denied Salman's number, UP man threatens his PA, father
Mumbai: The Bandra police arrested a habitual criminal from Uttar Pradesh (UP) for making threat calls to actor Salman Khan’s personal assistant (PA) and his father Salim Khan for wanting to get the actor’s personal number. The police said that the accused made several calls to them and after they refused to share Khan’s personal number, he threatened to kill them instead.
The arrested accused was identified as Shahrukh Gulamnabi alias Shera, 24, a native of Kareli area in Allahabad. The police said that he was tracked in his neighbourhood based on his phone number and was arrested by a team of Bandra police on Sunday.
A case was registered against the unknown caller with the Bandra police station on October 15 following the threat calls that he made. The investigation revealed that Shera has several cases of extortions and attempt to murder registered with the UP police.
Shera first called the actor’s PA Nibhas Chayya on October 6, threatened to kill Chhaya and asked for Khan’s personal number. However, Chhaya refused to give, upon which he threatened to kill him. After a gap of few days, on October 13, Salim Khan received a call from Shera.
“The accused told Salim Khan that he was gangster Chhota Shakeel’s henchman and that he wanted the actor’s number. When the same was turned down, he issued threats to Salim Khan asserting to kill him. A case was filed with the Bandra police against the unknown caller,” said Manjunath Singe, Mumbai police spokesperson.
The police tracked him to his native and upon verification found several cases registered against him there. He is a local goon and habitual criminal, police learnt.
A case has been registered with the police under sections 506 (2) (criminal intimidation) as per the provisions of the IPC and as per relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.
