Shah Rukh Khan major attraction at Magnetic Maharashtra
Mumbai: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who attended the Magnetic Maharashtra summit at Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) on Tuesday afternoon, was the centre of attention at the mega event. Mr Khan appealed to the government to provide more facilities to turn Mumbai into an entertainment hub. “We will develop an entertainment hub that will provide content for the globe,” he said.
Mr Khan had arrived at the summit for a seminar on the media and entertainment and hundreds of fans — industrialists, bankers and watchmen alike — gathered outside the conference room to catch a glimpse of their idol.
While talking on a topic at hand, ‘Shaping the Future and Formation of Entertainment’, Mr Khan said, “Mumbai has a huge potential, and we are contributing to Indian cinema, but we are not producing much for the global entertainment sector, which we can, and I see the opportunity. The government should facilitate the growth of the sector more.”
“We need more cinema halls which people can afford like China. The entertainment field is giving employment to lakhs of people, and more and more people should connect to this sector,” Mr Khan declared.
Raising some concerns about issues dogging the industry, director Ritesh Wadhwani said during the seminar, “We need a single-window system to get sanctions for shooting. To get permission for sites such as the Gateway of India, we have to go up to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and his officials.”
