Amboli police arrests trio in SSC paper leak case

When the supervisor checked their mobile phones, she found the question paper of the same subject.

Mumbai: The Amboli police has arrested three persons in connection with the paper leak incident that took place at SVM Swami Muktanand High School in Andheri. The police has also seized the mobile phones used to perpetrate the crime.

On Monday, thirty minutes before History and Political Science paper of the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations began on Monday, supervisor of the Andheri-based school caught three students checking their phones and then reading books. When the supervisor checked their mobile phones, she found the question paper of the same subject.

According to a source, after the question paper was found on the mobile phone, the teachers checked the phones of all the students, and alerted the Amboli police immediately. Looking at the sensitivity of the case, inspector Daya Nayak led a team and started interrogating the students. Within ten hours of finding the question paper, the Amboli police arrested the trio, which is suspected to have leaked question papers to the students. The police also uncovered the gang who used to sell these papers for a price. Eight students were also taken into custody, but were later handed over to their parents.

Bharat Gaikwad, senior police inspector of Amboli police station, said, “Three persons were placed under arrest. They were arrested from Mumbra, Ambernath and suburban parts of Mumbai.”

After the police found out who was the mole that supplied the question papers, the inquiry committee will take action against the students and those involved in the leak.
