Mumbai: SSC test paper leak case main accused Firoz Khan allegedly never opened the sealed question paper in front of two independent witnesses as per rules. Khan clicked photos of the exam papers at 9:15 am and sent it via whatsapp to Rohit Pal Singh, who immediately distributed it to students of Brilliant Academy tuition class. On the other hand, sources from the board said that Khan, who leaked the History paper on Monday accessed it from the official system of the board. This system is only authorised for the exam conductor and the staff of the school.

Daya Nayak, API of Amboli Police station told the Asian Age that Firoz Khan was invigilator in Kids Paradise school at Mumbra had accessed to take custody of the Exam paper, which comes from nearest centre of the university. In the morning at 9.15 am he opened seal and clicked photographs of questions paper and sent to Rohit Singh who then circulated among the students. He further said that investigation is going on and if we found any lapses from the school point of view we will not hesitate to take action against them.

“We also will file chargesheet against students under Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices at University, Board and other specified Examination Act1982. (MPMUBE) And Section 66(D) Information and Technology Act. Action of the examination will be different aspect but we will take action as per our jurisdiction.”

However, sources from the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) said that Khan, who leaked the paper, accessed it at 9.30 am when the board sends all the question papers to its examination centres. In order to access this question paper, there is a specialised system designated at each centre’s computer, which can be accessed only by using a special digital password.

“If anyone accessed this system, it means he or she has the password. .This means, this guy (Khan) had this password,” said the source.
