BJP spread anarchy in J&K'

Sena compares ally's exit from alliance with PDP to the British exit.

Mumbai: The Shiv Sena on Thursday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party's greed for power has led to anarchy in Jammu and Kashmir. Even as the BJP has pulled out of the alliance leading to President's rule in the troubled state, the Shiv Sena said that history would not forgive the BJP.

The Sena also compared the BJP's exit from their alliance with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the British leaving India in 1947. They further claimed that the situation in the state was never as bad as it was under the BJP-PDP governance. The editorial published in Sena mouthpiece said that the way the BJP had pinned the blame for all their failures in the state on Mufti and fled was similar to how the British had left India in tatters.

"The BJP opted out of power in Kashmir after spreading anarchy in the valley," the Saamana editorial said adding that "The situation had never deteriorated to this extent there, rivers of blood had never flown so extensively and never had so many jawans lost their lives before."

Highlighting how the security personnel were killed in the state on a regular basis, the Sena said that the defense minister's reactions came only in the form of a few tweets of tributes and condolences.

"The government in Kashmir was formed due to greed (of the BJP). The country, jawans and people of Kashmir had to pay a heavy price for this greediness. Thus, history will never forgive the BJP for this," the editorial said.

The PDP-BJP government in the northern state collapsed on Tuesday ending the saffron outfit's three-year-old alliance with the regional party. The Governor's Rule has been imposed in the state after Mehbooba Mufti resigned from the post of chief minister.

The Sena said Prime Minister Modi and his party were voted to power at the Centre after he promised a solution to end terrorism in Kashmir. "But people today feel the (previous) Congress-National Conference (coalition) government in Kashmir was better. Today Kashmiris are attacking the Army, terrorists are attacking Army posts. Jawans are being martyred everyday and innocent people are losing their lives," the party said.
