Mumbai: The state-run J.J Hospital’s social work department bagged around Rs 4 crore fund within six months from private corporate firms for the upliftment of the hospital's various projects and advanced medical care for the patients.

The newly formed social services department committee appointed by the dean of J.J hospital Dr Ajay Chandanwale led the initiative.

Talking to The Asian Age, Dattatray Vibhute, the head of social service department, said, “We approached the MNCs for the purpose of advanced medical care for the  patients and they have sanctioned the funds. The funds received on our dean’s name has rema-ined untouched so that it could be utilised for other state-run hospitals’ patients.”

Mr Vibhute added, "50 newly equipped electrocardiograms (ECG) were installed in various war-ds which cost around Rs 12 lakhs.”
