Toy train derails on sunday
Mumbai: A coach of Neral-Aman Lodge service, which is also known as toy train, has been derailed on Sunday. No injuries were reported in the mishap. S.K. Jain, divisional railway manager (DRM) of Mumbai Division of CR, said that an enquiry has been ordered into the derailment.
Sunil Udasi, chief public relation officer (CPRO) of CR said, “One wheel of SLR cum luggage coach (no passenger) derailed at around 11.30 am. The same was rerailed at 2 pm. Track is safe and normal. No injury was reported.” The toy train service had been resumed from October 19 covering its sprawling 21 kilometres from Neral to Matheran, which is a tourist destination in winter and summer seasons. The services had been stopped due to the rainy seasons. At present, six coaches of train are being operated from Neral-Matheran service.
