Bombay High Court issues tenders to digitise records
Mumbai: The Bombay high court has floated tenders to digitise over 29 crore records of the HC and its benches at Nagpur and Aurangabad. According to the registrar general, the initiative is part of the e-court project of the central government and as per the report by the law and judiciary department digitisation of records of Bombay high court is on the top priority list. As per the tender document, over 29 crore records of the Bombay high court and its benches at Nagpur and Aurangabad are to be digitised.
The HC will also provide space to the winning bidder in the court premises at all three locations. Mangesh Patil, registrar general of the Bombay HC said, “The digitisation process is part of the e-court project of the law and judiciary department. It is a long-term project and the winning bidder will have to complete the work in six years. The average digitisation of records will be 50,000 pages per day,” said the source.
