Agitators fume, likely to intensify their protests

Sources added that the protesters are planning an action plan for the agitations.

Mumbai: An uproar over the release of the movie, Padmaavat is likely to intensify with local Rajasthani and Marwadi organisations planning to protests at cinema halls and Azad Maidan from Tuesday. “The organisations also have a right to hold protest against the movie and oppose it,” said BJP legislator Raj Purohit.

The Supreme Court (SC) gave a go ahead to the movie after the censor board cleared it, however, the Rajasthani, Marwadi organistions and Karani Sena has held protests against the release of the movie. The much-awaited Sanjay Leela Bhansali magnum opus will be released in cinema halls across the city on January 25.

The protesters plan to assemble outside cinema halls and appeal cinegoers not watch the movie. “The BJP is in power at the Centre and the state is silent on the release of the movie. They should take consider the sentiments of the people,” sources said.

Sources added that the protesters are planning an action plan for the agitations.

Meanwhile, the city police has beefed up its security to tackle any law and order problem.
