Rs 2,000 crore from CF to help farmers
Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has issued a government resolution (GR) on February 21 for drawing Rs 2,000 crore from the state contingency fund in order to remove hurdles in the supply of money to farmers in distress.
According to the GR, the state government has distributed Rs 2,909.51 crore so far, and Rs 2,000 crore will be distributed from the CF. The Konkan will get Rs 9.710 crore; Nashik Rs 613.785 crore; Pune Rs 284.153 crore; Auran-gabad Rs 722.125 crore; Amaravati Rs 326.054 crore; and Nagpur Rs 44.173 crore.
As per the GR, the financial aid will be provided in two installments to those farmers who have suffered 33 per cent or more damage to agricultural and perennial crops.
In the first installment, Rs 3400 per hectare will be credited to farmers who have lost their crops as per the rate of Rs 6800 per hectare. Else, an amount between Rs 1000 and Rs 3400 will be credited to their accounts for their damaged crops.
