State-of-the-art control cells for Mumbai police
MUMBAI: The Mumbai police are likely to have state-of-the-art police control cells by the end of this year. This will track a complaint right from its registration to the latest update on a single click. The main motive of an integrated system is to provide better access, and ensure transparency, said a senior police official.
Police said that the idea of using an advanced and integrated system was to get an extra hand in the already existing set of police strength. Mumbai police spokesperson and DCP (operations) Deepak Deoraj said, "The Mumbai police force is looking forward to recruiting many aspiring youngsters, which will lead to strengthening the numbers instantly. The need for strength will hopefully be tackled with this new integrated system which will be installed in the police control room."
A police source said that this integrated system will help any police officer to lend a hand in any case, by logging into the system.
After logging in if they wish to help in a case, they need not run from pillar to post to get all the previous details and developments in the case. This will cut down the time consumed in learning the specifics of a case and will help them get working on it at a rapidly.
With this state-of-the-art system installed in police control rooms, the detection rate of cases registered with the Mumbai police is expected to go higher.
This value addition in the police force will definitely turn out to be a boon.
With this integrated system, the police will be able to act as a quick response team and can also get a direct map of the developments in the case, which will give better results.
