The MBMC submitted the modification proposal in accordance with provisions of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966

The irregularity came to the fore after the state government’s urban development department (UDD) in its notification dated July 5 refused to accord sanction for construction of the new 18m-wide DP road at Moti Nagar behind Nazareth Church in Bhayandar (west).

MUMBAI: It has come to light that the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) submitted a deceptive status report in order to secure permissions from state government authorities for construction of a new DP road passing through vast stretches of mangroves, coastal regulation zone (CRZ), and wetlands in Bhayandar.
