Cops arrest jobless man who tried to rape his mother

The accused started beating her and tore her clothes. His father came and tried to control him but he didn't listen and threw him out of the house.

Mumbai: The Mankhurd police arrested a 30-year-old man who allegedly tried to rape his mother on Thursday night. The father and brother of the accused intervened and tied him up. They then locked him in another room and approached the police. .

According to a Mankhurd police officer, the accused is educated but has been unemployed from last one year. Earlier, he was working with a private company which shut down. Following which he started consuming alcohol regularly. His mother who worked as a maid used to cover all his expenses.

On Thursday night, the accused came home in an intoxicated state and started crying by holding his mother. His mother was trying to console him when he started touching her inappropriately. The mother then shouted and called her husband. The accused started beating her and tore her clothes. His father came and tried to control him but he didn’t listen and threw him out of the house.

The police said, “The father of the accused then called his another son who stays nearby. By the time the accused had forced himself on his mother. But the father and brother of the accused managed to stop him. They then locked him in a room and called us.” The police arrested the accused under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections for molestation and sexual assault.
