Raj Thackeray blames Modi for BJP's defeat in Assembly polls
Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has said that the people have expressed their anger at Prime Minister Narendra Modi by defeating the BJP in the Assembly polls of five states. Their fury has erupted in the form of votes, he said.
Concluding his Nashik tour, Mr Thackeray made a scathing attack on Mr Modi and the BJP. He said, “No one can match Mr Modi the way he has ruined the country. Even Mayawati cannot emulate him in this.”
Speaking about the sta-te affairs, he said that the dwindling crowds for the BJP-Shiv Sena rallies sh-owed that they were fast losing the people’s confidence. These two parties had proved themselves useless as compared to the Congress-NCP.
“The BJP-Sena government has failed on all fronts. The aid announ-ced by the state government for the onion farmers is fake. The state government has taken a loan from the Shirdi Sansth-an. Then on what basis is it giving subsidy to farmers? Despite having no money, the government is making big announceme-nts,” said the MNS chief.
“My first reaction on demonetisation was that Mr Modi had dug a political hole for himself. In fact now the BJP has been digging political holes for itself. As soon as the elections come near, the ruling party will make more mistakes,” he said.
There is no possibility that the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections will be held together in the state. The BJP-Sena will fare poorly in these polls, said Mr Thackeray.
