Mumbai: Close to 4,000 LLB students who had failed and applied for revaluation might be forced to appear for the ATKT (allowed to keep terms) exams, which will commence from Monday, despite the University of Mumbai (MU) failing to declare their revaluation results.
Students and the Student Law Council have demanded that MU should postpone the exams as the university failed to declare the results.
Sachin Pawar, president of the Student Law Council, said, “We had demanded that the first, third and fifth semester exams of general LLB be postponed till the MU does declares the results of all the revaluations. The former MU vice-chancellor (V-C) had assured us that they would declare the results of all revaluations before the commencement of the ATKT exams. But the current V-C, Dr Suhas Pednekar, failed to keep his predecessor’s promise.” He further said that the council had informed Mr Pednekar about this, but he did not reply.
Siddharth Ingle, a second year LLB student from St Wilfred College in Panvel, who is also a member of the Student Law Council, claimed, “Two days ago, I spoke to Arjun Ghatule, who is the director of (examinations and evaluations) revaluation, about the results.
I was informed that close to 4,000 answer sheets are yet to be assessed.”
