Mumbai: Looking at the opposition’s proposed Samvidhan rally, the Mumbai BJP has declared the detailed programme of its Tiranga rally, where participants will be addressed by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.

As part of the Tiranga rally, all MLAs, MLCs and MPs from Mumbai will walk from Chaityabhumi to Elphinstone’s labour ground. Senior leaders of the Mumbai BJP met on Wednesday to finalise details of the proposed rally.

The march will start from Chaityabhumi under the leadership of city guardian minister Vinod Tawde, Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar, and other ministers Prakash Mehta and Vidya Thakur.

All three MPs and MLAs will join the march from the starting point. The BJP plans to get a large number of its workers on ground in the march.

The yatra will move from D.G. Ruparel College to Senapati Bapat Road to Parel’s labour ground. It is expected that the march will go on for around four hours from 2pm to 6pm.

With wide- ranging forces joining the Samvidhan rally, the BJP national leadership asked its Mumbai leaders to make all efforts towards holding a big rally. Acting on these instructions, city BJP leaders decided to get a larger number of workers on ground in a show of strength.

Mr Shelar said, “At a time when some elements are trying to divide the country, we will march for unity. The tricolour is our inspiration to fight such divisiveforces. Mumbai will set an example of unity before the nation on Republic Day.”

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will join the rally at the labour ground in the evening.

He will address the rally and is expected to maintain his stance on recent incidents of violence in Maharashtra.
