Govinda's nephew Janmendra Ahuja passes away at 34
Mumbai: Film actor Govinda’s nephew Janmendra Ahuja (34) died of a cardiac arrest in Mumbai on Thursday morning. Janmendra was also known as Dumpy. According to media reports, Janmendra suffered a heart attack at his flat in Versova.
Govinda’s another nephew Krishna Ahuja’s wife and actress Kashmira Shah told the media “When I reached Janmedra’s house he was no more. It is a natural death and we are deeply shocked.”
Janmendra Ahuja was son of Govinda’s brother Kirti Kumar. In 2007, Janmendra Ahuja had directed a film titled Jahan Jaaeyega Hamen Paaeyega, which featured Govinda in the lead role. Kader Khan, who died earlier this month, was also part of the film, along with actors such as Sakshi Shivanand, Sharat Saxena and Mukesh Rishi. He had reportedly worked as an assistant director in Govinda’s 2002 film Pyaar Deewana Hota Hai.
Janmendra Ahuja’s last rites were held at Pawan Hans crematorium on Thursday afternoon. Govinda, his son Yashvardan, Krishna and his relatives were present at the crematorium to pay their last respects.
