Mumbai: The Maharashtra Congress is planning a massive mobilisation for the party’s central working committee (CWC) meeting on October 2 at Wardha, Sevagram.

The Congress top brass including president Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be present at the Wardha meeting on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

The party will launch its Lok Sampark Abhiyan to reach every household in the state. It will also start a year-long programme to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary.

On Monday, state Congress chief Ashok Chavan and Congress general secretary Ashok Gehlot visited the Gan-dhi ashram at Wardha and started preparation for the meeting. “The values that Gandhiji gave this country are relevant more than ever in today’s India. The Congress party is walking on the path of Gandhiji. We will re-energise ourselves from Wardha in this battle against fascism,” said Mr Gehlot.
